About ATMP

Access to Medicines Platform, a not-for-profit organization, has been steadfast in its commitment to collaborating with partners and multiple stakeholders to contribute to the improvement of health systems. Our primary focus is on increasing access to life-saving commodities and promoting investment and accountability for sustained health systems strengthening, with a particular emphasis on sexual and reproductive health and rights.

To achieve these goals, we prioritize the establishment of a robust civil society that engages effectively with the government, private sector, and other stakeholders responsible for health systems. Our work in Kenya since 2018 has centered around creating a strong civil society movement that actively collaborates with government entities at all levels, private sector organizations, and other stakeholders accountable for health systems. By doing so, we strive to deliver equitable, accessible, and high-quality sexual and reproductive health and rights services.

Our overarching objective is to enhance health systems, ensuring that women, children, and vulnerable groups have access to safe, quality, and effective health services and commodities. We focus on key areas such as reproductive health, maternal and child health, neglected tropical diseases, sexually transmitted infection treatment, and other life-saving commodities and devices. By strengthening health systems, we aim to improve the overall well-being and health outcomes of communities.

More about ATMP

What We Do

Increasing access to and awareness of life-saving commodities for women and children

Covering the continuum of care for reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health (RMNCAH).

IMPROVING AVAILABILITY, AFFORDABILITY, AND REDUCING STOCKOUT OF SEXUAL & REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH COMMODITIES

These include contraceptives, medicines to treat HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections, and equipment to help women deliver babies safely.

ADVOCATING FOR POLICY CHANGES

Putting systems in place to maintain the human resources for health and ensure adequate, affordable and timely supply of medicines and health commodities, particularly women, girls, and vulnerable groups. Ensure women have access to contraception, and safe pregnancy, delivery and neonatal care.

INCREASING THE CAPACITY OF LOCAL CSOS

Effectively advocate for access to Sexual Reproductive Health Commodities at the county level to complement national-level efforts and empower communities to know and advocate their right to the highest attainable Reproductive Health Rights.

FACILITATING ROUND TABLE DISCUSSIONS BETWEEN MULTI-STAKEHOLDERS

Generate innovative solutions to the tough problems of supplying the right medicines to poor people, at the right price, of the right quality in a timely and accessible manner. In an effort to strengthen a vibrant dialogue and dissent space and meaningful engagement.

CONDUCTING EVIDENCE-BASED ADVOCACY

We achieve this through annual availability and affordability studies on SRH Commodities in selected counties across Kenya. To support the generation of knowledge products to support policy processes and local CSO engagement with decision-makers and communities.
